SANDERS, TRUMP & CO: SPEAKING TOUR THROUGH GERMANY
March 3-11 - Hamburg, Kiel, Flensburg, Bremen, Köln, Jena, Erfurt, Berlin
For photos from this event, go here. What the hell is going on in U.S. politics right now?! A democratic socialist is challenging the Clinton Empire for the heart of the Democratic Party. Meanwhile, right-wing fundamentalists and demagogues are waging war with the Republican Party’s business-elite establishment. On both left and right, discontent with status-quo politics has reached a fevered pitch, and activists are making themselves heard louder than any time since the 1960s.
Why is this happening, and where will it lead? This March, Brooklyn-based political analyst and activist Ethan Young will tour eight cities throughout Germany, helping audiences around the country better understand the most momentous moment in U.S. politics in decades. Young, who works with PeopleforBernie.com, Portside.org, and the Left Labor Project in NYC, will discuss the presidential primary process, the battles taking place within each party and between progressive and conservative political cultures, and the current state of social movements in the U.S. And last but not least, he’ll let us know why he thinks the people of Germany should also #FeelTheBern! He will also talk about the state of social movements in the U.S.
This speaking tour is a co-production of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung – New York Office and RLS regional offices across Germany.
