ENERGY EMERGENCY, ENERGY TRANSITION
Conference - NYC District Council of Carpenters
On October 10-12 in New York City, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and Cornell University’s Global Labor Institute convened the “Energy Emergency, Energy Transition” conference. This invitation-only roundtable brought together over sixty representatives of trade unions and NGOs from more than twenty countries and five continents to discuss strategies for a transition from our current unsustainable and undemocratic energy system. Participants coordinated and worked on efforts to develop an energy system that is responsive to social and ecological needs.
The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung—New York Office is proud to support the conference “Organiser la résistance,” presented by the Canadian group Collectif La grande transition. From May 24-26, guest speakers from Québec, Canada, England, France, Spain, and the USA will gather in Montreal to discuss strategies and means to implement in order to organize the resistance for changing the world, here and now.
