On October 10-12 in New York City, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and Cornell University’s Global Labor Institute convened the “Energy Emergency, Energy Transition” conference. This invitation-only roundtable brought together over sixty representatives of trade unions and NGOs from more than twenty countries and five continents to discuss strategies for a transition from our current unsustainable and undemocratic energy system. Participants coordinated and worked on efforts to develop an energy system that is responsive to social and ecological needs.
