RLS−NYC SUPPORTS INDIGENOUS WOMEN LEADERS AT UNPFII
UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues - NYC
The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung—New York Office is proud to present a collaboration with MADRE, an NGO focusing on women’s issues, inviting a group of indigenous women leaders to participate in co-organized events surrounding the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) taking place in New York City from May 20-31, 2013.
Two public events, on Monday May 21st at the United Nations and on Thursday May 23rd at UNICEF, will allow for indigenous women to speak about gender-based violence in their communities, and also to develop capacity and leadership training to work on such pressing issues. For the second straight year, the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung—New York Office will co-host this Trinational Exchange with the UCLA Downtown Labor Center and the Institute for Transnational Social Change.
